What is a Life Coach?

A Life Coach is pretty much just what it sounds like. If you want to be a better tennis player, you hire a tennis coach to analyze your skills and your game and teach you how to improve. If you want to have a better life, you hire a life coach.

As your life coach, I can work with you to improve your life in any area that you want to work on. If you want to advance in your career or set a goal, I can help you. If you want to stop numbing out with booze or food and spend more time actually living your life, I can help with that. If you want to improve your relationship with your partner or learn how to set a healthy boundary, coaching can help you accomplish that. If you are stuck and just spinning in place in any part of your life, I can get you unstuck.

My coaching philosophy is centered around the belief that relationships are the key to everything. My favorite people to coach are parents of gay, trans and non-binary kids who are struggling with their feelings about their child’s orientation. My goal as a life coach is to make this niche obsolete. I want to live in a world where having a gay or trans kid is no more interesting or different than having green eyes or curly hair and no longer causes anyone, anywhere, any mental or emotional pain at all. I want kids to be able to be who they are meant to be and live in mental and physical safety.

I allow parents the space to unburden themselves of all the negative thoughts and feelings they are experiencing that they are afraid to share with friends and family because they don’t want to feel judged. A coaching session is a judgement-free zone where you can get all your ugly out, all your confusion, all your questions, and then we take a look at all of it. Together, we will work on understanding and analyzing what is going on in your life and then sort out what you want to change.

I want to point out that you can love your child, be 100% affirming of them being gay, trans, or non-binary and still experience negative thoughts and feelings about it. It doesn’t make you a bad parent or a bad person. It makes you a human being. If you would like to talk about what a coaching relationship with me would look like for you, send me an email (veronica@bloombigcoaching.com) and we can set up a time to chat.
